Every week small groups of people from our church come together to share life. If you desire to grow closer to God and to make new friends, small groups are the place for you!
What's a Small Group?
Small groups at the Crossing are made up of people just like you. Group members provide weekly support, study the Bible, and pray for one another. Some groups meet at homes while others meet at the Crossing.
In addition to the ongoing small groups, we have short-term small groups that meet at the Crossing for a short period of time ranging from 5-7 weeks. Any short-term groups that are currently active, will be listed here.
SHORT-TERM SMALL GROUPS
Family Bible Study
Facilitator: Shane Leonard E:
Time: Tuesday October27th at 7:00-7:30pm PM. for six-eight weeks.
Location: Zoom meeting Meeting ID: 859 4411 7065
We will be watching about 10 minutes of the movie Joseph: King of Dreams each week. After we watch the movie we will read the bible verses that go along with what we watched and then discuss the differences between the movie and the actual bible verses. Our goal is to help the children to read and understand the bible stories for themselves. We will continue this until we get through the whole story of Joseph. We want to keep this light and fun for the whole family to enjoy as we learn and grow from God's word.
Facilitators: Laura Moreland: Wednesdays, 10/14, 10/21 (Zoom)
Corinne Gokcen: Wednesdays 10/28, 11/4 (in-person room 308)
Location: Zoom links for Laura's group provided upon registration
Topic: Laura Moreland --- Using stories about my Jewish grandmother, my mother, and me as a springboard, the class will study how God works all things together for good to fulfill the plan He has for each one of us, and how we, in turn, bless those in our family line as well as others. Drawing on verses from Jeremiah, Ephesians, Acts, and Hebrews, we will consider how our lives come together like a beautiful tapestry for Him. We will also look at who we have become because of our faith in Christ and the family He has placed us in, and how our “whole” family is blessed because of our faith; recognizing that we now have the DNA of Jesus the Messiah within us!. The class will introduce a family-tree exercise and have time for sharing and answering questions.
Facilitator: Chris Brown
Date: Wednesdays, October 14-November 11
Location: the Crossing, room 311
Topic: Missional Business: Business for the Glory of God. If you are a business person, or considering becoming a business person, this is a small group for you. Using Business for the Glory of God by Wayne Grudem book as a starting point, we will consider together what it means to do business for the glory of God. Missional Business or BAM (Business as Mission) is a mission strategy that will also be discussed as we seek to support the call God has given to businesspeople.
The book is highly recommended as we will be going through it, however, if someone wants to come without the book, it is fine.
