What was Paul trying to get the Corinthian church to realize?
Did they look more like children of Heaven, or children of their generation?
“Love isn’t rude. Love doesn’t dishonor others. Love doesn’t behave unbecomingly. It isn’t irritable or quick tempered. It isn’t provoked.”
“Love always acts properly for the situation.” 1 Corinthians 13:5
Why was that? What caused it? What causes it in us?
How long does it take you to get ready for church?
“When you gather for worship, each one of you come prepared with something that will be useful for all: bring a psalm, a teaching, a revelation, a tongue or interpretation. But do it all to build up the body.” 1 Cor 14:26
Let each one come prepared.
“I'm giving you a new commandment: Love each other in the same way that I have loved you.” John 13:34 (GWT)
“Make your attitude that of Jesus, who existing in the form of God did not consider equality with God as something to be used for his advantage. Instead He emptied himself, assuming the form of a slave.” Phil 2:5-6
“…whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” 1 John 4:20
“Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth, so that you have sincere love for one another, love one another deeply, from the heart.” 1 Peter 1:22
CAN WE LOVE EACH OTHER LIKE THAT?
Phil 2:3 “Do nothing out of vanity and conceit, but in true humility, consider others as more important than yourselves.”
“If anyone wishes to follow after me, let them deny themselves, pick up their cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23
HOW DO WE GET THERE?
