Brian has been in full time ministry to teenagers and young adults for over 14 years. Brian grew up in the church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior during a week of Summer Camp at Pocono Plateau in July of 1985. When he was a freshmen in High School he felt the call to Youth Ministry.
During his late teenage years and into his early 20’s he served at Pocono Plateau as part of the summer staff in various roles; life guard, counselor, program director, trip camp coordinator, and as part of the summer drama ministry. In the fall of 1994 Brian became part of the year round staff and in the Summer of 1996 he became the Adventure Program Coordinator. Brian was responsible for overseeing the ropes courses, building new elements, taking groups on climbing and caving trips, leading weekend retreats, training summer staff, and for securing groups to use the courses throughout the entire year.
Brian’s wife Michelle graduated from Elim Bible Institute in 1993 and served as a missionary in various locations worldwide prior to joining the staff at Pocono Plateau in January of 1996. Michelle graduated with a Masters in Christian Counseling from Alliance Theological Seminary in May of 2008. Brian and Michelle are the proud parents of two sons, Andrew James, Caleb Joshua and their daughter Kaitlynn Joy born June 10, 2006.
In September of 1998 Brian and Michelle visited Van Nest Assembly and they felt the Lord’s call to move to the Bronx and serve God as full time Youth Pastor’s. Over the course of the past eight years Cross Factor grew as Brian poured into over 70 youth on a weekly basis, traveling with many teens to Peru and Mexico for summer missions, leading the youth worship band, and developing Lighted Path Drama where the youth reach their generation through drama.
Brian joined the Crossing Staff in October of 2007 and is thrilled to see so many teens who have a passion for the Lord. The Lord has His hand on the teens of the Crossing and the vision of Oxygen is to see young people living the full life that God has promised in Christ Jesus. The plan is to take the abundant life of Christ to every Jr. High and Sr. High campus through Hot Spot Bible Clubs as the teens of Oxygen say yes to being ambassadors for Christ.
The Lord has done great things and Brian has a bigger passion for Youth Ministry then ever before. There are more than 33 million teenagers that will turn 20 in the next 5 to 7 years – the biggest group of teenagers ever in America – please join with us as we pray for and reach out to this generation!!
