Mom's Bible Study
Beth Moore's study: "JESUS THE ONE AND ONLY"
Dates: Tuesday mornings beginning September 14, 2010
9:30 am - 11:30 am in room 103
Our class is based on the principle of Titus 2:3-5 where Paul encourages the more mature women to instruct the younger women to live Godly lives and love their husbands and children. We are blessed to have 3 instructors who love passing on the wisdom that God has shown them.
Our class is an informal environment that welcomes moms with infants. A nursery is provided for older toddlers. Come laugh, cry and rejoice together in our journey as mothers.
The Christian Woman
Dates: Tuesday mornings beginning September 21, 2010
9:30 am - 11:30 am in the Board Room
The basis for our study and discussion will be "The Purpose Filled Life". Although we covered the material last year, we will focus and expand on some specific areas.
It is so easy with the pressures and values of this world to get lured off track of what our real focus should be. For many ladies who have already raised children and/or retired from the work world, we wonder what is my purpose from here on? How does an understanding of God's purposes for us help us cope with the issues we face at this stage (of the issues) of our lives? Where might new areas of service be? How can our worship be expanded and deeper?
Information on additional Tuesday morning bible studies will be available shortly.
Wednesday Evening Bible Studies
Beginning September 22, 2010 join us on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm for an in-depth journey into the Word of God. With a dynamic and talented teaching team, consisting of Marge Conn, Claudia Parris, and Yvonne Eason, we will explore the depths of the Bible.
FIRST SESSION: "Growing in the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-21)"
Dates: September 22 to November 17, 2010
7:00 pm in room 307
Leader: Marge Conn
This an an area that has had great impact on Marge's walk with the Lord. Marge is a gifted and talented teacher who will present Biblical principles, share personal examples and engage the class in lively discussion to bring "home" the power of the Word of God.
The first lesson will explore what sanctification beyond salvation looks like and what works against our growth in this area. From there, we will move to identify the "transforming irritations" and learn to yield rights. This is vital for the development of Godly perspectives and responses as we walk through our life journey.
Finally, we will explore having a Quiet Spirit and walking in the peace that God so wonderfully offers us.
SECOND SESSION: TBD
Dates: December 1 to December 15, 2010
7:00 pm in room 307
Leader: Claudia Parris
Check back for further details.
THIRD SESSION: "From Tent to Temple"
Dates: January 5 to March 2, 2011
7:00 pm in room 307
Leader: Yvonne Eason
Purpose: To show how God would progressively move from one tent to another as He sought to lead His people into a higher level of relationship with him. We'll examine closely the "Tabernacle of Moses" with its furnishings, the significance of each piece, and what they mean to the believer today. A study of the "Tabernacle of David" which was pitched as a simple tent, and the rebuilding of it (spiritually) according to Amos 9:11, Isaiah 62:1, 6-7 and Acts 15:13-18. "The Temple of Solomon" was built in a time of peace. Emphasis will be placed on the preparation for its building, and how it relates to the temple God is now constructing with believers as the "Living Stones," according to the teachings of the New Testament.
Resources: The Scriptures (Old and New Testaments), healthy interaction, discussion, lesson outlines, of course the Holy Spirit and prayer.
FOURTH SESSION: "Names of God"
